# Connecting the Asobiai MCP server

Asobiai is a site for publishing browser games made with AI. Add its MCP server to your AI app and just ask it to "publish this game".

## Connection details

- URL: https://asobiai.games/mcp
- Type: remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP, stateless)
- Auth 1 (recommended): OAuth 2.1. Connecting opens the Asobiai sign-in and consent page. Supports Dynamic Client Registration (DCR), Client ID Metadata Documents (CIMD) and PKCE (S256)
- Auth 2: API token. Send an `asb_...` token created at https://asobiai.games/settings as an `Authorization: Bearer` header
- Tools: publish_game / update_game / list_my_games / get_game_feedback

## If you are an AI agent setting this up from this page

- Prefer OAuth (no token needs to be pasted into chat). The user does the browser sign-in and presses Allow at the end
- Don't change or remove other MCP servers. When editing JSON config files, keep existing entries
- If a server named asobiai already exists, ask before overwriting it
- Claude (desktop / web) and ChatGPT must be configured by the user in the app UI; guide them through the steps

## Claude (Desktop app / web)

### Add a custom connector (sign in)

Auth: sign in

1. Open Customize → Connectors, then + Add → Add custom connector (on Team / Enterprise an owner adds it from Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web)
2. Enter "Asobiai" as the name and the URL below, then Continue
3. Choose "Sign in now". The Asobiai page opens: log in and press Allow
4. In a chat, turn it on from + → Connectors

URL:

```
https://asobiai.games/mcp
```

- The Free plan allows one custom connector.
- Claude connects from Anthropic's cloud, so it can't reach a server that only runs on your computer (localhost).
- Instead of signing in, you can put Authorization: Bearer <API token> in Request headers.

## ChatGPT (Web)

### Add a custom MCP server as a plugin (sign in)

Auth: sign in

1. Open chatgpt.com/plugins, then + → Add custom MCP server
2. Enter a name and description, and put the URL below in Connection → Server URL
3. Choose OAuth, tick "I understand and want to continue" and click Create as a plugin
4. Install the plugin; the Asobiai page opens — log in and press Allow
5. Pick the plugin in a chat

Server URL:

```
https://asobiai.games/mcp
```

- ChatGPT doesn't accept API tokens; use the sign-in connection.
- Availability depends on your plan and workspace settings (on Business / Enterprise an admin adds it).

## Claude Code (CLI)

Asking an AI agent to do it:

1. Run `claude mcp add --transport http --scope user asobiai https://asobiai.games/mcp`
2. Check with `claude mcp list` that asobiai was added
- Last step for the user: Restart Claude Code, open /mcp, pick asobiai and choose Authenticate, then log in to Asobiai in the browser and press Allow (or run `claude mcp login asobiai`)

### Sign in

Auth: sign in

1. Run this in your terminal
2. In Claude Code run /mcp, pick asobiai and choose Authenticate. Log in in the browser and press Allow

```sh
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user asobiai https://asobiai.games/mcp
```

Or log in from the shell:

```sh
claude mcp login asobiai
```

### API token

Auth: API token

1. Add it with the token

```sh
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user asobiai https://asobiai.games/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer asb_xxxxxxxx"
```

- When a token header is set, sign-in isn't used.

## Codex (Desktop app / CLI / IDE)

Asking an AI agent to do it:

1. Run `codex mcp add asobiai --url https://asobiai.games/mcp`
2. Check with `codex mcp list` that asobiai was added
- Last step for the user: Run `codex mcp login asobiai`, log in to Asobiai in the browser and press Allow. The desktop app shares this config, so restart it to pick it up

### Desktop app (sign in)

Auth: sign in

1. Open Settings → MCP servers → Add server and choose Streamable HTTP
2. Name it "asobiai", enter the URL below, save, then Restart
3. Click Authenticate; log in on the Asobiai page and press Allow

URL:

```
https://asobiai.games/mcp
```

### CLI (sign in)

Auth: sign in

1. Add it, then log in

```sh
codex mcp add asobiai --url https://asobiai.games/mcp
codex mcp login asobiai
```

### CLI (API token)

Auth: API token

1. Put the token in the ASOBIAI_TOKEN environment variable, then add it

```sh
codex mcp add asobiai --url https://asobiai.games/mcp --bearer-token-env-var ASOBIAI_TOKEN
```

Or write ~/.codex/config.toml directly:

```toml
[mcp_servers.asobiai]
url = "https://asobiai.games/mcp"
bearer_token_env_var = "ASOBIAI_TOKEN"
```

- The desktop app, CLI and IDE extension share ~/.codex/config.toml, so adding it once works everywhere.

## Gemini CLI (CLI)

Asking an AI agent to do it:

1. Run `gemini mcp add --transport http -s user asobiai https://asobiai.games/mcp`
2. Check with `gemini mcp list` that asobiai was added
- Last step for the user: Restart Gemini CLI, run `/mcp auth asobiai`, log in to Asobiai in the browser and press Allow

### Sign in

Auth: sign in

1. Add it
2. In Gemini CLI run /mcp auth asobiai, log in in the browser and press Allow

```sh
gemini mcp add --transport http -s user asobiai https://asobiai.games/mcp
```

### API token

Auth: API token

1. Add it with the token

```sh
gemini mcp add --transport http --header "Authorization: Bearer asb_xxxxxxxx" -s user asobiai https://asobiai.games/mcp
```

Or in ~/.gemini/settings.json:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "asobiai": {
      "httpUrl": "https://asobiai.games/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer asb_xxxxxxxx"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

- Sign-in needs a local browser; over SSH use a token.
- Use httpUrl (not url, which means the older SSE transport).

## Cursor (Desktop app)

Asking an AI agent to do it:

1. Open ~/.cursor/mcp.json (%USERPROFILE%\.cursor\mcp.json on Windows); create it as `{"mcpServers":{}}` if missing
2. Add `"asobiai": { "url": "https://asobiai.games/mcp" }` under mcpServers, keeping the file valid JSON
- Last step for the user: Enable asobiai in Cursor's MCP settings and, when asked, log in to Asobiai and press Allow

### Sign in

Auth: sign in

1. Open ~/.cursor/mcp.json (create it if missing) and add this
2. Enable asobiai in Cursor's MCP list and log in when asked

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "asobiai": {
      "url": "https://asobiai.games/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

### API token

Auth: API token

1. Add it with headers

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "asobiai": {
      "url": "https://asobiai.games/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer asb_xxxxxxxx"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

- For a single project, use .cursor/mcp.json.

## VS Code (GitHub Copilot)

Asking an AI agent to do it:

1. Open .vscode/mcp.json in this workspace; create it as `{"servers":{}}` if missing
2. Add `"asobiai": { "type": "http", "url": "https://asobiai.games/mcp" }` under servers, keeping the file valid JSON
- Last step for the user: Start asobiai from "MCP: List Servers" and, when asked, log in to Asobiai and press Allow (to use it everywhere, add it as Global via "MCP: Add Server")

### Sign in

Auth: sign in

1. Command Palette → "MCP: Add Server" → "HTTP (HTTP or Server-Sent Events)"
2. Enter the URL below and the ID "asobiai", then pick where to save it (e.g. Global)
3. Start the server; when asked, log in to Asobiai and press Allow

URL:

```
https://asobiai.games/mcp
```

### API token (mcp.json)

Auth: API token

1. Write .vscode/mcp.json; you'll be prompted for the token

```json
{
  "inputs": [
    {
      "type": "promptString",
      "id": "asobiai-token",
      "description": "Asobiai API token",
      "password": true
    }
  ],
  "servers": {
    "asobiai": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://asobiai.games/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer ${input:asobiai-token}"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

- Use MCP: List Servers to start, stop or restart it.

## Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf)

Asking an AI agent to do it:

1. Run `devin mcp add -s user asobiai https://asobiai.games/mcp`
- Last step for the user: Run `devin mcp login asobiai`, log in to Asobiai in the browser and press Allow

### Devin CLI (sign in)

Auth: sign in

1. Add it, then log in

```sh
devin mcp add -s user asobiai https://asobiai.games/mcp
devin mcp login asobiai
```

### Cascade (mcp_config.json)

Auth: API token

1. From the Cascade panel … → MCPs → Open MCP config file, add this

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "asobiai": {
      "serverUrl": "https://asobiai.games/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer asb_xxxxxxxx"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

- The config file location varies by version; open it from the panel.

## Other apps (Any MCP client)

Asking an AI agent to do it:

1. Following the setup method of the app you are running in, add https://asobiai.games/mcp as a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP) named "asobiai"
- Last step for the user: Follow the app's prompt to log in to Asobiai and press Allow. If the app doesn't support OAuth, create an API token in Asobiai settings and send it as an Authorization: Bearer header

### Connection details

Auth: sign in

1. Register the URL as a Streamable HTTP MCP server. OAuth-capable apps open the sign-in page automatically.
2. Apps without OAuth can send an Authorization: Bearer <API token> header.

URL:

```
https://asobiai.games/mcp
```

Header:

```
Authorization: Bearer asb_xxxxxxxx
```
